During the site analysis were explored crime statistics to assess the safety of the area for the potential young users of Newspaper Cultural and Entertainment Centre.
According to the last figures derived from Northamptonshire police in February in the central area of Northampton were reported 750 crimes.
Analysing monthly data for one year period it became evident that the number of the criminal offenses in the central area is maintaining very similar. However in the comparison with the North East area of the Northampton, where the number of crimes in February reached 1167, it is apparent that the town centre is better patrolled. Meanwhile in the report published on the Northamptonshire police website was declared that the actions to reduce crime are taken and the crime is falling. It is also stated that many of crimes in the central area related to the night time activities.
There were a few crimes reported in February around Derngate which are the most common anti-social behavior.
The evaluation drawn upon the data shows that the project site is located in the considerably quiet area and safe for the potential young user.
